Tiktok-Campaign and Documentary «Leben am Limmat»

In our last module at Cast / Audiovisual Media at the Zurich University of the Arts, we told the story of Lorena on Tiktok to draw attention to the housing shortage in Zurich. Its a drama in several acts, told in small short stories on the Tiktok channel «lorena.am.limmat».
At the beginning, Lorena lives the absolute hipster dream in Zurich, together with her boyfriend. But suddenly a rent increase flutters into the student's apartment, her boyfriend leaves her – without further ado she decides to move to the ZHdK.
In order to bring the problem of housing shortage and gentrification in Zurich, which affects many other young and low-income people, into reality, we also produced a documentary about it. The entire campaign reached over 1.6 million people in one month and was picked up by numerous media outlets in Switzerland and Germany. These include BLICK, 20 Minuten, SRF Kultur, Focus, Stern, BILD, TagesAnzeiger etcc.
